Airline Air Europa requested in Brazil a registration of a Brazilian company with administrative headquarters in national territory, which allows the transportation of passengers on national routes according to the laws of the Country. The company registered on Friday, Commercial of Sao Paulo. The purpose is to ensure its installation and operation in the country within the period established by Provisional Measure 863 of December 13, 2018.
Text of the Provisional Measure, which is processed on an emergency basis, must be decided by the Chamber of Deputies until the 22nd, after the deadline and the limit for voting. Even after the deadline, the installation of the company will be maintained as determined by the current legislation for these cases.
According to the Minister of Tourism, Marcelo Alvaro Antonio, the achievement “consecrates the opening of the Brazilian market to foreign investment, which should generate a strong increase in the competitiveness of air transport in Brazil and reposition the country in the world tourism scenario”, affirmed.
He stressed that the deconcentration of the market would contribute significantly to achieve the goal established by the National Tourism Plan 2018-2022, which provides for the increase of annual international visitor arrivals in the country from 6.6 million to 12 million tourists, in addition to the incorporation of 40 million Brazilians in the domestic market. Another global target that should be impacted is the projected increase of $6.5 billion to $19 billion in international tourism revenue over the next four years.
